Vintage Wedding Glam

Inspired by the 1920's-1960's, vintage is proving to be quite popular in the wedding industry. Here at Akina Bridal Couture, we are in love with everything vintage! So we have put together a vintage inspired look for you...

Whether you are having a beach wedding, country wedding or garden wedding, vintage wedding dresses are versatile for different themes!

This lace comb birdcage veil would go perfectly with the cocktail wedding dresses above. It simply completes the look, keeping in with the vintage style.

If a birdcage veil isn't your style, you can opt for a lace head comb instead. Subtle and elegant.

For a full length vintage dress, you can never go wrong with beautiful lace and soft hues.

Why not include some soft lace detailing in your bouquet to keep the vintage theme throughout your wedding?

Colours are a very important element for vintage themes.

Akina Bridal Couture will be hosting an Exclusive Karen Willis Holmes Designer Day

We are very excited to announce our in store designer day where you will have the chance to meet the designer behind these stunning bridal gowns! Keep reading below for more details!

In the lead up to this event, we are also very excited to share with you some advice from Karen herself, about the beautiful ‘Brooke’ gown.

The graceful Brooke gown is part of the KAREN WILLIS HOLMES Demi Couture collection. This statement gown has a flattering V-neck bodice which is precisely draped and ruched to create a soft look that beautifully contrasts with the intricate diamanté detail embellished on the waist and shoulders. These embellishments can be removed to create a cleaner look. The skirt also has a detachable train, making it versatile if you want to add extra volume to the gown. It is a striking gown which emphasizes the waistline and has a charming feel to it.”

Planning your perfect wedding gown

Choosing your perfect gown is all about choosing a style that enhances your figure and uses intricate details to make the gown yours.
We love working with our brides to define the gorgeous details of their gowns.   A big trend at the moment is new ways to use tulle and lace. Whether it's uniquely ruched chiffon over a bodice, or over-the-top layers upon layers of tulle with unique lace edging, details are the biggest trend this season.

We also look to design gowns that accentuate the waist, especially where gown corsetry hugs the hips. We love gowns that flatter each individual bride, so the wow factor is really the cut that enhances the figure.

Trends come and go, but the secret is choosing a classic design that reflects your personality and flatters your body shape. 'Each bride is an individual and every delicate stitch and detail should reflect your personality.
