Frocking up to suit your body shape

Have you ever seen a bride and thought ‘what were they thinking wearing that dress!’

Feeling spectacular on your wedding day is all about selecting or designing a couture gown that hides your flaws and highlights your best features.  You want to make sure it is season appropriate as well as wedding theme appropriate and take into consideration the different colours and fabric choices available.  Most importantly though, make sure it reflects your personality and style!  This will inevitably mean you will need to try on many different styles to find the right one for your body shape.

Today, I’d like to share with you a few different dress silhouettes we create to highlight features depending on our bride to be body shape.

A-line
This style forms a triangle A-shape with a fitted bodice, flowing into a wide skirt.

Fishtail/Mermaid
This has a tight fitting, sculptured bodice, flowing into a widening skirt. This style will enhance most figures.

Empire Line
High waisted and short bodice with the skirt beginning under the bust line, giving a slender line.

Ball gown
Fitted bodice, tiny waist with a full skirt. Sometimes with tulle petticoats. This is a more traditional style.
